When it comes to exciting occupations, racing car driver has to be pretty high on the list. So when Litmus Public Relations was approached by Formula One™ third driver Fairuz Fauzy, it was an opportunity not to be missed.
As third driver at the current F1™ Lotus Racing team, Fairuz was looking for ongoing PR support to raise his profile during the 2010 Formula One™ season and to shout about his achievements in the world of motorsport generally.
Litmus director Lucy Carey says: “Fairuz was keen to use public relations to connect with his growing army of fans in new and exciting ways. We have worked closely with him to come up with an integrated online and traditional PR strategy that capitalises on the current worldwide interest in F1™ whilst building a firm foundation for Fairuz to establish his status as a leading figure in motor racing once the 2010 F1™ season is over.”
As part of the digital media strategy, Litmus has created an online media presence for Fairuz with a new website, fans’ e-newsletter and social media activity. Offline, Litmus is keeping Fairuz in the spotlight with regular press releases and interviews before and after each of the key races in the 2010 F1® calendar.
“It has been really good fun following Fairuz and the Lotus Racing team and seeing the drama unfold with each race. But even more exciting for us from a PR point-of-view has been seeing the recognition and popularity of Fairuz growing throughout the season,” adds Lucy.
